Interview With Internet Service Provider Founder: Richard Tang
By Jim Symcox on Oct 10, 2007 in Interviews, Richard Tang
Last Friday I interviewed Richard Tang of Zen Internet.
Apart from being the new father of a bouncing baby girl he’s also the founding father of Zen Internet and is its Managing Director.
The full interview with Richard is in the November issue of “Good Company”, so watch out for it.
During the interview Richard gave 3 useful and hard won business lessons. One of them is particularly right for starter and one man businesses.
Zen’s Smart New Offices
Zen’s offices are located on the outskirts of Rochdale and look out to the Gordon Rigg garden centre and the moors beyond and is nicely located for the M62 motorway. Although at the moment the new roundabout that’s being added further down the main road has created a bit of a hellish traffic problem at rush hour – which is the time I scheduled the interview for!
For those who aren’t sure what Zen Internet is they’re a very high quality, completely UK focused Internet Service Provider with an armload of awards to its name.
Their boardroom display cabinet in their posh new offices is positively groaning under the weight of awards.
Zen’s Awards
Some of Zen’s awards include:
- PC Advisor 2007: Most Reliable ISP
- Sunday Times Feb 2007: UK’s Best Broadband
- ISPA (Internet Services Providers’ Association) Awards 2007: Best Dial up
- ISPA Awards 2007: Best Business Email
- ISPA Awards 2007: Commended in the Best Business ISP category
- PCPro 2006: Best Broadband ISP
- Macworld Awards 2007: Best Mac-Friendly ISP
And there’s more where they came from.
Rachel Bridge from The Sunday Times also interviewed Richard and that interview along with others with other millionaires is in her book called: “My Big Idea”.
