Professor Randy Pausch of Carnegie Mellon University in the USA was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and given an estimated 3-6 months of reasonable health before he dies. So he gave his last lecture in September last year. A last lecture by a dying man is one you might think would be morbid and depressing. Not so…
Randy is inspirational. He really tells it like it is. Live your dream. In fact live your life like you’ve been given just a few months to live.
The Last Lecture was videoed and has since been turned into a book of the same name more details are at the Last Lecture official web site.
For your viewing pleasure I’ve got the video of the lecture so you can watch it now!
And in case you’re wondering, as of now, he’s still alive and going through a lot of treatment, including new specific liver treatment. Randy has a site where he posts about his progress.
Update, added Friday 25th July 2008: America’s ABC reported that Randy died from the pancreatic cancer he had
