The Way Advertising Is Going

Think about how in the 60s, 70s and 80s many advertisers used TV because that’s where their audience was for hours at a time.

Now look at the Internet. The niche is taking over people want to watch something that interests them. And funnily enough that’s much better for advertisers.

The reasons advertisers should be flocking even more to the Internet are as follows:

Mass Market Vs Niche Market

Most products are rarely aimed at “everyone.”

Yet that is precisely what TV advertising does. Compare it to a niche web site that runs only content related to that niche. Do you think people interested in the niche will go there? You bet!

So advertisers can target their audience more effectively.

TV Advertising Costs Vs Niche Advertising Costs

Advertising costs are linked to the popularity and competitiveness of an advertising slot. So a Super Bowl or World Cup Football Final advertising slot will cost millions.

At the moment web advertising is still maturing so those prices aren’t seen just yet.

However, by targeting niche sites advertisers are more likely to improve their cost of advertising to sales ratio.

So if you’re a betting man I’d bet on advertisers who are savvy enough to understand the power the Internet gives them.

By the way, this advertising power is still only used in a very few markets but it’s bound to go worldwide.
