It seems like everywhere you go on the Internet now there’s video. The day when we watch the Internet rather than NBC or the BBC is getting closer.
How does that translate into offline marketing?
In fact it can translate quite nicely.
Remember that the Internet is just another marketing channel. So everything you do on it should be part of your marketing strategy. That means operate your marketing across all the channels that benefit your company.
So if you’ve a video you’ve uploaded on to YouTube or maybe your blog or web site you could apply it to other marketing channels.
For instance you could send a copy on DVD to your best customers, maybe ask them for some comments and record those and add them to the video. Then how about using the revised DVD to send out to your prospects? If you’re in retail, or you’ve offices, you could put the video on a continuous loop so that customers or prospects can see the video.
How about offering it as part of your consultancy package? Or using it for internal training? What about using it for PR?
What if the video was an advert you’ve used on TV or radio? You could do exactly as I’ve outlined, plus upload it to video sites.
The possibilities are endless. That’s why a business strategy is vital. Otherwise you don’t use the full effect of what you’re doing.
